Week in Review

Week in Review on gillaspytraining.com:

The temptation is always there to play the sport year round in hopes of being seen, but in most cases nothing beats dedicating yourself to the weight room and closing the gap on your competition.

I think without question this is one of the things I see the most. Everybody wants to start back squatting with a barbell when a squat pattern hasn’t been established first. This slows progress, drives faulty movement patterns, and doesn’t transfer whatsoever to sport or life.

It’s amazing the difference small adjustments can make. Crazy to think that I see athletes all the time paying zero attention to speed training.

Not as much with beginners, but as an athlete progresses in his or her career exercises need to get more specific/functional as competition nears.

If there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that a lot of people are going to take supplements and they don’t always care much about the quality of those supplements. That being said, while I’d much rather talk shop about training, I have started trying to get better supplements into the hands of people. If they are going to be taken, the quality might as well be there. I’ve taken Legion products for a long time now and these are some of the best sports supplements available.

It was my birthday on Friday so I thought what better time to share some of the things I’ve done to help me stay performing at a high level into my 30’s.

Thanks for reading and have a great week!
