Week in Review

Week in Review on gillaspytraining.com:

Late Off-season

Things starting to ramp up a little bit at Friend Fitness for the basketball athletes as pre-season nears. Putting more time and specificity into conditioning.

Blake Putting in the Work

This kid has been a lot of fun to work with this summer. He has an awesome personality and keeps things light in the gym. On top of all of that, he’s seeing good improvement as well.

GRIT

True GRIT can only be developed by responding to adversity over and over again. Some think tough workouts, motivational quotes, etc. will build it, and maybe too a small degree it will (grit), but the only way to develop the GRIT I’m talking about (life or sport) is by bouncing back time and time again.

Training the Adductors

This is an area that needs to be taken care of, especially if you’re trying to get the most out of your body. Typically if it has been neglected you’ll notice the tissue work isn’t the most pleasant, but over time it usually improves. Try some of this stuff as pre-hab and hopefully it can help you avoid having to rehab.

A couple weeks ago, I had a giveaway where I gave out a free recharge recovery supplement. Keep an eye out for more giveaways like that from time to time. Congrats to Sarah for winning this one.
