Week in Review

Week in Review on gillaspytraining.com:

Chronological vs. Biological

Research shows that taking care of yourself can create a mismatch between your chronological and biological age. Everybody gets wrapped up in chronological age, but when was the last time you heard anybody talk about biological age. I guess sometimes it’s just easier to say “I’m just getting old.” What was always more theory is getting more and more evidence to back it up now. Balanced diet, smart training, managing stress with breathing and meditation can go a long way in slowing down the aging process.

Groin Strain

Just before Bobby started working with me he aggravated his groin. Some other things we’ve done that weren’t talked about in the post included improved tissue quality with some direct tissue work to the adductors/groin, mobilization with some mobility drills, and then isolated strengthening. First isometrics, and now we will add some eccentric and concentric strengthening shortly as well.

Easy Nutrition Strategies

In a world where we constantly try to make nutrition increasingly difficult, I like to use strategies that make it easy. Sometimes so easy it may not even be the things you always hear about.
