Week in Review

Week in Review on gillaspytraining.com:

Agility Work

This probably isn’t what you are use to seeing as agility training, but when you really look, this drill is teaching an athlete to create stiffness. Just by looking at the video you can see how hard I’m having to work to stay tight and get back on the box. A very important aspect of agility training.

Why Do You Train?

To each their own, but I personally can’t imagine training because I felt bad about what I ate. Surely we can find a better reason than food guilt.

Exercise You Probably Haven’t Seen

I posted this to Facebook as well, but in the description I accidentally said the exercise was in the sagittal plane. It’s a frontal plane exercise and it drove me crazy until I deleted it. Even an attempt to correct the mistake in the comments didn’t do it for me. Thank you Instagram for allowing corrections, which Facebook wouldn’t allow for some reason. All that to say, here is an exercise you’ve probably never seen before, and if you have you get to see it again. As I’ve said in the past, this is one of the planes of motion that is always neglected, so I love finding different ways to get people really strong there.

What a Difference a Year Makes

This popped up on my Facebook memories. I thought it was interesting to see how on the same day a year ago I was trying to get a totally different outcome from my training. I guess a remix reel doesn’t share to Facebook currently so Instagram for the win again. If you don’t follow me there, hit the follow button while you’re there if you’d like.
